Highlights For Students
As always, SACRPH warmly welcomes student participation in our conference.
Students may contribute as audience members during the full program of conference events, serve as presenters during individual panels, and/or attend the special sessions targeted specifically toward students, including:
- Writing Workshop for graduate students on Friday, October 4, 4:30-6:15pm — This session has a separate application (deadline passed) and is coordinated by Matt Lasner.
- Poster Session for undergraduate and master’s students on Saturday, October 5, 1-4:15pm — This session has a separate application (deadline passed) and is coordinated by Mark Souther.
- Catered reception for graduate students at Fire on the East Side (6 Gloucester St) on Friday, October 4, 8:30-10:30pm.
We are also offering a discounted student rate for conference registration, as well as a limited number of discounted student rate rooms (1 King, or 2 Queen beds) at the Toronto Downtown Courtyard Marriott Hotel ($30 off the special nightly conference rate).
Awards and Funding
Finally, we offer special awards and travel funding specifically for students. We invite student presenters to submit their papers for consideration for the Student Paper Prize (deadline August 15) and/or to apply for the Student Travel Awards (deadline August 15). Recently graduated Master’s and Ph.D. students may also submit their theses or dissertations for consideration for the John Reps Prize (deadline July 15).
