Laurence Gerckens Prize

The Laurence Gerckens Prize ($500) is awarded to an outstanding teacher-scholar who has demonstrated sustained excellence in scholarship, teaching, and leadership in the field of planning history. Gerckens (1934-2021) was SACRPH’s co-founder and guiding visionary, and he was Professor of City and Regional Planning at Ohio State University.

To nominate a candidate, one or more letters of nomination detailing the candidate’s qualifications for the award, typically written by several of the candidate’s former students, should be submitted via email to committee chair Rosemary Ndubuizu (Rosemary.Ndubuizu@georgetown.edu).
