The Ángel David Nieves Prize ($500) is awarded to the best digital or public humanities project on city and regional planning history, including student projects, no geographical restriction. Projects that embody Nieves’s dedication to social justice activism receive special consideration. Nieves (1971-2023) was professor of Africana Studies, History, and Digital Humanities at Northeastern University and a longtime friend and board member of SACRPH.
