Call for Posters

Deadline for poster submissions: March 1, 2026

The Society for American City and Regional Planning History (SACRPH) invites graduate and undergraduate students to submit abstracts for poster presentations showcasing research about the history of city and regional planning, without geographic restriction, to be presented at the organization’s 2026 national conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 15-18, 2026. The poster session offers an opportunity for students to share research findings, engage with other scholars, and contribute to scholarly dialogue about the evolution of planning thought and practice. 

Possible topics for proposals include (but are not limited to):  

  • Histories of urban design and the built environment 
  • Historical perspectives on individual neighborhoods, cities, or regions 
  • The evolution of planning institutions and laws 
  • Important people and organizations in planning history 
  • The history of urban social movements 

Poster proposal submissions should include: 

  • Your name, university, degree in progress, department or program, and year 
  • Project title 
  • 250-word abstract describing the poster topic, geographic scope, time period, methods of investigation, and the context of your research (e.g., coursework, independent research, dissertation or thesis, etc.)

Accepted presenters will receive additional information about poster dimensions and format.  

Poster proposals should be emailed to the conference’s Local Arrangements Co-Chairs by March 1, 2026.
