Public History Service Project
Greenhills, OH
Thursday, October 15, 9:00am – 2:00pm
Meet at Clifton Court Hall (CCH), Lower Entry

Join us on Thursday, October 15, to put your expertise to use for a community in need at our Public History Community Service Day in Greenhills, Ohio, one of three Greenbelt towns built during the New Deal. This event will be a collaboration between SACRPH attendees, University of Cincinnati history students, and the Greenhills Historical Society (GHS).
In the morning, we will be scraping, sanding, and painting wooden memorial benches situated throughout Greenhills. Then, after a complimentary lunch, we will be using resources from the GHS Museum and Archives, Greenhills High School Alumni Room, and Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library to research the residents of Greenhills who are memorialized on the benches. Our research will inform short writeups to be paired with the refurbished benches.
Be sure to arrive in Cincinnati in time to participate in this meaningful opportunity to explore this National Historic Landmark planned community and make a real contribution to a historic community!
Cost to participate is free; but registration implies a commitment to attend, and our partners will be depending upon you.
We will be carpooling in private cars for the ~25-minute drive to and from Greenhills. Please bring your laptop computer and a water bottle. For painting, smocks will be provided; but please wear casual clothes.
