Reaching Cincinnati
By Air
The closest airport to Cincinnati is Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) in Northern Kentucky. The quickest way from the airport to campus is by rideshare, but you can also take the TANK 2X-Airporter bus to downtown.
By Car
From I-75, the nearest exit is Hopple Street (Exit 3). From I-71, the nearest exit is Martin Luther King (Exit 3B).
Getting from CVG Airport to the Conference
CVG is located in northern Kentucky, about fifteen minutes from downtown Cincinnati and twenty-five minutes from the University of Cincinnati.
Taxi / Rideshare
The easiest way to reach the University of Cincinnati is by Uber or taxi, which costs $40-$60, depending on traffic.
Airport Shuttle
Executive Transportation offers an airport shuttle directly to UC for $35, which you can book at their desk near baggage claim or by calling 859-261-8841 (reservations encouraged).
Public Transportation
Mass transit is possible, but inconvenient. To take the bus, follow signs in CVG to Ground Transport East to find the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) bus stop. Take the 2X bus from the airport to Government Square in downtown Cincinnati. From there, you can travel by Cincinnati’s Metro bus system to campus on the 17, 19, 46 or 78 bus. A day pass, which you can use on both TANK and Metro, costs $5.
Parking
Parking is limited near campus, so we encourage you to walk or use mass transit (see below). For Saturday only, we have secured the use of parking lots near campus at Hebrew Union College. If you park at HUC, please display the conference parking pass in your registration bag on the dash of your car. On campus, there are four large garages which cost up to $10 a day. There is both free and paid street parking to the south, east, and west of campus.
Transport within Cincinnati
Bike Share
Red Bike is Cincinnati’s bike share provider. It has over fifty racks across the city. The closest rack to the conference is on Clifton Avenue, in front of Arts and Sciences Hall. Price options include: $12 for a two-hour pass or $30 for an unlimited monthly pass.
Public Transportation
Cincinnati’s bus system, Metro, operates across the city and uses the Transit app for schedules and tracking. Local routes are $2.20 and a day pass is $4.40 ($5.00 if you include the TANK system). You can pay with cash or coins on the bus or use the EZ-Fare system on the Transit app.
Taxi and Rideshare
For taxi and rideshare arrivals, the best address is Clifton Court Hall, 2800 Clifton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45221.
Tour-Related Travel on Friday
All bus tours will depart from and return to Arts & Sciences Hall at the times designated in the conference program.
Walking tours begin and end at the listed tour location which registrations should reach on their own in time for the beginning of the tour. Please see tour descriptions for further detail. You should have received an email from your tour guide with a contact phone number in case you have trouble finding your walking tour’s starting point.
Buses for Friday Night Plenary
We will provide bus transportation to and from the 40th Anniversary Panel & Cincinnati Night Reception taking place on Friday evening at the American Sign Museum. Buses will operate in loops for drop-off at the venue, 5:00 – 6:30pm, and return to campus, 7:30 – 8:15pm. Please meet outside Arts & Sciences Hall to depart for the event.
